Native Memphian, Brenda joysmith returned home with Joysmith Gallery & Studio moving to Memphis January 2000 after 24 years in Northern California.
What is your primary product or service?
A fine art gallery featuring original works by Brenda Joysmith and a host of internationally recognized artists.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Brenda Joysmith is a professional artist. Her works have been collected by numerous institutions, organizations and private collectors; including Oprah Winfrey and Maya Angelou. Her works have also been featured on the sets of numerous feature films and television sit-coms.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The works we carry and artists represented.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Joysmith Gallery has the one physical location in Memphis's South Main Art District. However, the gallery exhibits with several national art venues across the country annually.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Located in downtwon Memphis, the gallery is one block form the national Civil Rights Museum.
What type of payments do you accept?
Mastercard, VISA, American Express, checks and cash. The gallery also is willing to work with clients that wish to schedule payments for purchases.
Which areas do you service?
The gallery ships via UPS or FedEx or DHL nationally and internationally.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Self-owned and operated.
What are your hours of operation?
Sunday and Monday 10am - 2pm Wednesday through Saturday 1pm - 7:30pm and by appointment (901-543-0505)
