How long have you been in business?
We have over 35 years of experience in photography, advertising and graphic design. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Memphis and my husband has a BS in Journalism from U of M.
What is your primary product or service?
We shoot weddings, events and rehearsal dinners as well as on location engagement shoots, pet and family portraits and equine photography. Shooting horses and animals whether in shows or at home, in the park or at the barn is one of my specialties. We also provide architectural and interior design photography as well as shooting commercial establishments, retail stores, etc.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have been taking photographs for as long as I can remember. I got my first 35 mm camera in 1972 as a Christmas gift from my mom and dad. Soon after, I started taking photography classes at the University of Memphis (then Memphis State) and learned to develop and print film in addition to learning the finer points of shooting. I converted to digital in 2005, and started shooting weddings about that time as well.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
My photographs are not standard posed images. We will shoot the bride and groom and wedding party and conventional shots, but we specialize in capturing special moments and candid shots. We love to photograph children while they are playing - at the zoo or Botanical Gardens, at the pool or on horseback because these are the most natural shots and the ones that you will love and remember.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are located in Memphis, TN where we grew up and went to school and college. Our business has always been in this area and always will be, but we also love to travel and are happy to go on location.

We are in the heart of East Memphis on Poplar Avenue between Perkins and Mendenhall. Next door to the Dixie Cafe and Fed Ex Office.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash and checks.
Which areas do you service?
Memphis and the surrounding area. We will also go on shoots on location in other cities.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
My husband and I own and run the business.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM, but you can contact us anytime by email and we will respond as soon as possible.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That they love our photographs and will always treasure them.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Annie Leibovitz is an American portrait photographer who made a name for herself in her ten-year role as chief photographer for Rolling Stone magazine. I really admire her photography, and although I am not in her league, I think this quote describes the way I feel when behind the camera as well: “The camera makes you forget you’re there. It’s not like you are hiding but you forget, you are just looking so much.”
